The Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs will face off in a rare Friday night NFL matchup thanks to Hurricane Wilma. Kicoff is set for 7 PM EST at Dolphins Stadium.

Two former Dolphins, S Sammy Knight and CB Patrick Surtain, will make their first appearance in Miami since departing in the offseason. The Kansas City Chiefs have benefited from the presence of these two high caliber defensive backs. In just 5 games Knight has collected 29 tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, and 1 recovered fumble. Surtain has 16 tackles, 1 interception, and 1 recovered fumble in the same number of games.

Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins have suffered mightly in the secondary since losing these two key pieces, but they especially miss the stellar play of Surtain. The absence of a shut down corner the like of Patrick Surtain has allowed teams to convert third down passing attempts at an alarming rate and keep drives alive with the pass.

Offensively, both teams will rely on their formidable running duos to set the pace. The Kansas City Chiefs will turn to Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson while the Miami Dolphins will count on Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown. This should be an interesting aspect of the game because while the Chiefs clearly have the more dominating offensive line the Dolphins possess the more stout defensive front.

The difference may lie in the quarterback play. While neither team boasts a truly elite wide receiving threat, and both teams have Pro Bowl caliber tight ends in Tony Gonzalez and Randy McMichael, Kansas City's Trent Green is regarded as one of the league's better quarterbacks while Gus Frerotte is though of as more of a journeyman stopgap.

This should be a fun game to watch. The Dolphins have been able to put up points at home while the Chiefs always seem to light up the scoreboard.
