Priest Holmes, Larry Johnson, Trent Green and the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs were to much for the Miami Dolphins to handle on Friday night. The Chiefs cruised to a 30-20 victory that was more lopsided than the score would indicate.

Kansas City outgained Miami by nearly 200 yards (462 to 286). They allowed the Dolphins to hang around in the third quarter, leading by a margin of 14-13 in the third quarter, but thanks to a flurry of uncontested points they extended their lead to 30-13 early in the fourth quarter and cruised from there.

The Dolphins were plagued by an inability to sustain drives or finish with touchdowns. Faced with a 1st and goal in the second quarter, after a 47-yard punt return by Wes Welker, Miami managed only a field goal. They ended up converting only 3 of 13 third down attempts on the night.

Ronnie Brown broke off a somewhat odd 65-yard touchdown in which he managed to stay in bounds on the sideline and caught the Kansas City defense by surprise, but that was essentially the only offensive highlight of the game until late in the 4th quarter when Sage Rosenfels threw a 77-yard touchdown pass to Chris Chambers after the game was well out of reach.

Gus Frerotte had a horrible night behind center for the Miami Dolphins. He completed only 11 of 29 passes for 125 yards with one interception. His counterpart, Trent Green, threw for 289 yards on 20-34 passing.

The Kansas City Chiefs improve to 4-2 while the Dolphins fall to 2-4.
