Sunday in Houston it was just like they say, the more things change, the more they stay the same. The Indianapolis Colts (7-0) remained undefeated as they left the Houston Texans (0-6) winless on the season despite the Texans first half upset bid.

It was running back Edgerrin James who foiled the Texans plan. James ran for 139 yards and two touchdowns in leading the Colts to their 38-20 victory. 90 of his yards came in Indianapolis' big second half.

Houston Texans quarterback David Carr had been sacked a league leading 30 times coming into the game against what has been a tough Colts pass rush. In order to counter, Houston ran the ball on 26 of their first 32 plays, with Domanick Davis making 22 of those carries for 85 yards in the first half. The strategy seemed to be working as Houston went into the half tied with the Colts 14-14.

The Indianapolis Colts came out in the second half looking more like the team that was 6-0 coming in. They put 24 straight points on the board to go up 38-14. They also held Davis to just 13 yards in the second half. Indianapolis' final lead came on a 9 yard James run 3:42 into the third quarter. It was his second touchdown of the game. While James was pounding away on the ground, Peyton Manning was showing the Colts air attack is still as good as ever. He completed 21-of-27 for 237 yards and two touchdowns, but did toss one interception. Manning and Harrison put more space between themselves and the Young to Rice duo with their 87th career touchdown hookup to give the Colts a 31-14 lead. It was Reggie Wayne, however, that led the Indianapolis receiving core with 9 catches for 89 yards.

The Texans commitment to the run left Carr pretty much out of the offense. The Texans' quarterback threw just 9 passes, completing 6 for a total of 48 yards a touchdown and an interception. The touchdown tied the game when Carr hit Jabar Gaffney with under a minute left in the first half for an 8 yard touchdown. Things have gotten ugly in Texas; during the fourth quarter, fans at Reliant Stadium began wearing paper bags of their heads.

The Colts have a bye next week to get ready for a grudge match in New England on Monday night in two weeks. The Texans will host Cleveland and will try to secure their first win of the season.
