For the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, the operative word was "ouch."

Already missing leading receiver Drew Bennett because of a broken thumb, the now 2-5 Tennessee Titans had to go without QB Steve McNair, who was too banged up to take the field. Then Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher lost backup quarterback Billy Volek, Brandon Jones (Bennett's replacement), long snapper Ken Amato and running back Chris Brown to injuries. The final pain was administered by Arizona Cardinals QB Josh McCown and WR Larry Fitzgerald, who collaborated on a 34-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter that put the game away.

Not that the Cardinals did much as far as moving the chains, managing only 173 total yards and nine first downs. But while McCown was only 12 of 28 for 140 yards, the pass to Fitzgerald was a killer. Tennessee, meanwhile, finished the game with third-stringer Matt Mauck under center, and missed a field goal opportunity when Amato's battlefield replacement botched the snap.

The only thread of consistency throughout an erratic game was the ever-consistent Neil Rackers, whose two Arizona field goals made him 20-20 on the season. The Cardinals (3-4) also scored on a 60-yard interception return by David Macklin.

Volek threw a touchdown pass to Jones in the first quarter, a play of 38 yards. That, however, was before Volek suffered a concussion on a sack by Karlos Dansby and Jones hurt his knee on the same play.

Ouch.
