Keyshawn Johnson, not known for his shyness, once wrote a book titled: "Give Me the Damn Ball." With Oakland's RB Lamont Jordan, the request last week was probably more polite -- something like "Give me the damn ball, please?"

Jordan pleaded his case with Oakland Raiders' coach Norv Turner, and Turner responded by calling Jordan's number 28 times against the Buffalo Bills. The stocky fifth-year pro out of Maryland then rewarded him with 128 yards and three touchdowns, and the Raiders beat the visiting Buffalo Bills, 38-17.

Oakland Raiders quarterback Kerry Collins also seemed to benefit from Jordan's increased workload, completing 19 of 27 throws for 261 yards and a 22-yard touchdown pass to the wounded Randy Moss. Meanwhile, the Raider defense sacked Bills' QB Kelly Holcombe three times and held Buffalo Bills RB Willis McGahee to 50 yards.

The 3-4 Bills scored first on a drive that consumed more than eight minutes and culminated in a short TD pass from Holcombe to Lee Evans. In the second period, however, Jordan's first touchdown, the scoring connection from Collins to Moss and a Sebastian Janikowski field goal put the Raiders (2-4) on top 17-10 at intermission, and they never trailed again.

Doug Gabriel also proved a favorite target for Collins, catching five passes for 101 yards. Moss caught three, despite badly bruised ribs suffered in last Sunday's loss to San Diego.

Jordan's three touchdowns, which came on runs of 1, 17 and 7 yards, made him the first Raider to reach the end zone three times in a game since Rich Gannon in 2000.
