When the Kansas City Chiefs travel to Buffalo, heartbreak usually follows. Coming into Sunday's contest with the Bills, the Chiefs were 1-8 all-time, including a defeat in the 1993 AFC Championship Game. Against the Bills on Sunday, the heartbreak continued, dropping a sloppy game 14-3.

Kansas City opened the scoring with a Lawrence Tynes field goal, but that would be all the scoring they'd get. Buffalo WR Lee Evans turned in a 2-touchdown performance, thanks in part to quarterback J.P. Losman, who relieved an injured Kelly Holcomb.

But the Buffalo Bills defense was the big story. The defense sacked Trent Green six times, intercepted him three times, and forced him to lose a fumble. Add to that two missed Tynes field goals, and Kansas City didn't have a chance.

During the contest, Chiefs TE Tony Gonzalez became Kansas City's all-time leading receiver in yards, passing Otis Taylor's 7,306 yards. Larry Johnson, taking over sole possession of the starting running back job from Priest Holmes, ran for 132 yards.
