The Jacksonville Jaguars finally figured out a way to score 30 points in a game. On Sunday they put exactly 30 on the board against a Baltimore Ravens team that is in a full fledged nose dive. The Jaguars defeated the Ravens 30-3 and broke an NFL record 58-game streak of scoring less than 30 points all at once.

It took a late touchdown by the defense and a field goal to put an end to the streak. Quarterback Byron Leftwich hit Matt Jones for a 42 yard completion to set up the field goal by Josh Scobee from 26 yards. The very next possession, linebacker Mike Peterson intercepted a Kyle Boller pass and went 26 yards for the touchdown that brought the Jaguars their 30th point. Jacksonville last eclipsed the 30 mark on December 30th of 2001 when they beat the Vikings 33-3.

Undoubtedly, the Jacksonville Jaguars benefited from playing against a Baltimore defense decimated by injuries. Linebacker Ray Lewis and safety Ed Reed, two of the league's premier defensive players, were out due to injury.

The Baltimore Ravens did, however, have their starting quarterback, Kyle Boller, in the lineup for the first time since the season opener. The Jaguars defense welcomed Boller back by sacking him four times and picking him off three times. Boller had missed 7 games after an injury to his right foot in the season opener against the Colts.

The loss was Baltimore's fourth in a row and eighth in a row on the road.

Jacksonville got efficient production out of Byron Leftwich, who finished the day 16-of-30 through the air for 211 yards, a touchdown, and no interceptions. His favorite target on the day was Matt Jones, who caught 5 passes for 117 yards and a touchdown.

Baltimore continued to struggle on offense, and specifically, Jamaal Lewis continued to struggle. The feature back for the Ravens had just 44 yards on 14 carries.

The Jacksonville Jaguars (6-3) will travel to Tennessee next week to take on the Titans. The faltering Baltimore Ravens (2-6) will host Pittsburgh.
