You could make a strong case for Brooks Bollinger as the Carolina Panthers' most valuable player on Sunday. Unfortunately, Bollinger plays for the New York Jets.

But not very well, at least not during Sunday's 30-3 Carolina rout. Bollinger threw four interceptions, the second and third setting up a short touchdown run by Stephen Davis and a John Kasay field goal. Will Witherspoon took the fourth pick 35 yards for Carolina's final score.

Of course, Bollinger wasn't even supposed to be playing at Bank of America Stadium --- he was the fourth option at quarterback for the New York Jets when the season began. But a series of injuries made him the heir apparent, and he struggled mightily against a tough Panther defense.

Carolina Panthers QB Jake Delhomme also struggled, accomplishing very little (119 passing yards, two interceptions) after a hurling a 19-yard scoring strike to Keary Colbert in the first quarter. Part of the reason was Jets' DB Ty Law, who blanketed Delhomme's favorite receiver, Steve Smith.

Davis rushed for 81 yards and scored his 12th touchdown on a 1-yard plunge in the fourth quarter, when Bollinger came completely unglued and Carolina scored 20 of its points. Jets' feature back Curtis Martin was held to 75 yards.

In all, the Carolina Panthers forced six turnovers (including two interceptions from Ken Lucas) in lifting their record to 7-2. The New York Jets are now 2-7.
