If the Buffalo Bills want a win on Sunday, they need to figure out how to slow down LaDainian Tomlinson. A win would improve the Bills' record to 5-5 and help them keep pace with the division-leading New England Patriots, but that won't happen if Buffalo lets Tomlinson run free.

Now I'm not saying that the Bills need to shut down L.T. That's only been done once all season long. It happened in Week 7 when the Philadelphia Eagles held Tomlinson to only 7 rushing yards, 26 receiving yards, and most importantly no touchdowns.

What the Buffalo Bills must strive for is preventing LaDainian from breaking out with multiple touchdowns. That might be a tall order for the NFL's 31st ranked run defense. Thus far, L.T. has had five multi-touchdown games. In his last outing against the New York Jets on November 6th, Tomlinson cashed in with 4 touchdowns.

The Bills will need to key in on Tomlinson and force the Chargers to beat them with a downfield passing game. Even though San Diego boasts the best TE in the league (Antonio Gates) Buffalo's 2nd ranked pass defense should be able to keep the Chargers passing attack in check and force a couple of interceptions they way they have all season long.

However, if they allow LaDainian Tomlinson to run wild, go ahead and chalk up another loss for the Bills.
