The San Francisco 49ers' injury woes continued this week as the team learned that cornerback Ahmed Plummer, who was recovering from an ankle injury had to undergo another procedure after a setback. The team was expecting to utilize Plummer to help return depth to an extremely depleted secondary. Instead Plummer is out indefinitely.

Plummer will continue to be replaced in the starting line-up by Bruce Thornton who has stepped in admirably into the 49ers secondary. Truth be told, the mid-season acquisition has been one of the strongest additions to the 49ers secondary in an extremely long time.

In other injury news, San Francisco 49ers star fullback Fred Beasley who has had an up and down season did not practice for the second consecutive day. Beasley is struggling through a neck stinger, and was downgraded to doubtful. Chris Hetherington is expected to start in Beasley's place.

Receiver Arnaz Battle who has been struggling with a knee injury all season underwent arthroscopic surgery to try and improve his condition. Battle was upgraded questionable despite not practicing, and will be a game time decision. Should Battle not play, Johnnie Morton will continue to take his place.
