In another exciting, hard hitting, nail biting game between the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings, the game was decided on a last second field goal. The Vikings (5-5) went into Lambeau Field on Monday Night Football and defeated the Packers (2-8), by a score of 20-17 on a Paul Edinger 27 yard field goal.

Edinger's field goal gives Minnesota their first regular season sweep of the Packers since 1998 when they were able to defeat the Packers 37-24 and 28-14. Edinger's field goal also keeps the streak alive of 4 straight regular season games decided by game ending field goals, and the past seven regular season games have been decided by 5 points or less.

The Vikings-Packers rivalry is an ultra competitive rivalry, which may be the best in the NFL. When the two teams match up its always going to be a hard fought game no matter what the records of the two teams are. Monday night's game was no different.

Aside from giving Minnesota the season sweep of the hated Packers, Edinger's game winning kick propelled the team to a .500 record keeping their playoff hopes alive, and also gave the Vikings the edge in the all time series 45-44-1 over the Packers. The Vikings also lead the all time playoff series 1-0 with a 31-17 win in the NFC Wild Card playoffs last season.

Another Vikings-Packers game, another classic, and another game decided on a last second field goal. For two straight weeks Paul Edinger has been a hero. Can he do it again next week?
