The NFL Network is expanding their coverage south of the border to Mexico. The National Football League's official channel came to terms with Sky Mexico on a multi-year agreement.

Sky Mexico - a subsidiary of News Corp., the parent company of FOX network and Direct TV - is the country's largest satellite provider. It has a customer base of over one million subscribers and plans to commence broadcasting the NFL Network on May 1.

The announcement coincides with the NFL increasing efforts to reach more fans in Mexico. The league will play its first regular season game outside the United States on October 2. The Arizona Cardinals will host the San Francisco 49ers from Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.
