Bill Romanowski has agreed to pay former Oakland Raiders tight end Marcus Williams $415,000 to settle pending civil action. Williams sued his former teammate after getting hit in the face by Romanowski during a practice in 2003.

The Oakland Raiders - originally co-defendants in the case - have disavowed responsibility for any damages. The club fined Romanowski $60,000 after the incident.

Williams' career ended after his eye socket was broken by Romanowski. "Romo" ripped off Williams' helmet during a drill and hit him in the face. Romanowski - who retired that year - claimed Williams pushed him after the whistle had blown.

In March of this year, a jury ordered Romanowski to pay Williams $340,000 in damages; However, Williams was not happy with the jury's verdict. A new trial was sought until the 2 parties agreed to end the dispute.

Williams entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Washington State in 2002 for the Raiders. He played in 13 games that season, mostly on special teams.
