NFL and video game icon John Madden will be moving to NBC starting next year. He will be joining the cast of Sunday Night Football. This will mark the first time that NBC has aired an NFL broadcast since 1998.

Madden spent the past three years teamed up with Al Michaels to cover Monday Night Football for ABC. Before that, Madden worked with old friend Pat Summerall to call Fox's lead game from 1994-2001. The pair had already been working together for 13 years announcing NFL games for CBS before moving to Fox.

Madden has won 14 Emmys for his blue collar demeanor, technical expertise, and zany antics (Boom!...Whap!...Where'd that truck come from!), but he is perhaps most famous for his namesake video game "Madden NFL Football". It is the #1 selling sports game in history, cranking out 43 million copies since 1989.

Oh and by way, he also won a Superbowl as head coach for the Oakland Raiders in 1976. Keep up the good work John...
