The St. Louis Rams have beaten the Chicago Bears 17 to 13, but the Bears have suffered a much greater loss this evening. According to published reports, the Bears have lost starting quarterback Rex Grossman for at least three months after he suffered a broken ankle early in the game.

The St. Louis Rams starting signal caller, Mark Bulger, played sparingly. He went 3 for 5 with 38 yards and a touchdown. Running back Steven Jackson was impressive toting the ball for 47 yards on seven carries. Unheralded wide receiver Shaun McDonald made an impression on the coaches snatching 4 receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown.

The Chicago Bears did have something to be hopeful about because rookie quarterback Kyle Orton continued to show signs of ability. He was 7 of 10 for 93 yards but did throw an interception. Newly acquired wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad had 2 receptions for 26 yards.

Other key stats:

St. Louis Rams
Torry Holt 1 rec - 22 yards
Isaac Bruce 2 rec - 16 yards
