For the Denver Broncos, quarterback Jake Plummer will play one or two series' as coach Mike Shanahan will bring him along slowly after off-season knee surgery. In the crowded Denver backfield, Mike Anderson will start and receive most of the carries. The most highly publicized of the running backs, former Ohio State star Maurice Clarett has not practiced since suffering a groin injury. On the Denver Broncos defensive front cornerback Champ Bailey and defensive tackle Gerard Warren are both sidelined with hamstring problems.

Houston Texans head coach Dom Capers stated today that his first team skill guys like QB David Carr and RB Domanick Davis will see very little action; one or two series tops. Capers would like to get a good look at his offensive line, a spot where the Houston Texans need plenty of improvement. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio would like to see how his rebuilt defense looks in live game action tonight.
