The Denver Broncos defeated the Houston Texans 20 to 14 in a game that was evenly matched when the starters were on the field. The score was 7-7 well into the second quarter.

The Denver Broncos offense was efficient early on, especially in the passing game, but they had trouble moving the ball on the ground. Jake Plummer ended up 6 of 10 for 76 yards and a touchdown. Mike Anderson started the game at running back but could only muster 12 yards on six carries.

The Houston Texans starting unit did not play long, but it was nice to see David Carr connect with Andre Johnson for a 15 yard completion on the first drive of the game. Domanick Davis carried the ball seven times for only 20 yards.

Other key stats:

Denver Broncos
Ron Dayne 5 CAR 28 YARDS
Rod Smith 2 REC 28 YARDS
Ashley Lelie 1 REC 30 YARDS

Houston Texans
Chris McKenzie 1 INT
