The New Orleans Saints will face off against the New England Patriots later this evening in Gillette stadium.

Tom Brady figures to get his first game action of the season. Sitting out of the Patriots first preseason game fueled rumors that Brady had arm troubles, but those rumors were quelled when Brady showed off his arm in practice earlier this week. The New England Patriots defense will continue to work in the relatively fresh faces in their linebacker corps. Teddy Bruschi is out for the year and Ted Johnson retired, so veterans like Rosevelt Colvin will have to step up and fill the void. Colvin is an interesting player to keep an eye on. He was Pro Bowl caliber playmaker, but has had major injury problems since joining the Patriots two seasons ago.

The New Orleans Saints will look to improve on their defensive numbers. Last week they allowed nearly 400 yards of total offense against the Seahawks. The Saints were ranked 30th against the run and 27th against the pass last season. They need to improve on those numbers if the hope to make the postseason. On offense, it will be interesting to see how much playing time stars like Deuce McAllister, Aaron Brooks, and Joe Horn will receive. Some reports have the Saints starters playing up to three quarters this week.
