All eyes at the Meadowlands were on Chad Pennington in his first real test since undergoing off-season surgery on his throwing shoulder. He looked sharp in his debut going 9-of-10 for 86 yards and a touchdown pass before giving way to former Dolphins quarterback Jay Fiedler in the second quarter, but not before hooking up with Laveranues Coles on a 20-yard scoring strike. Coles came back to the New York Jets in the off-season, where he began his career before playing the last two seasons in Washington.

It took awhile for both offenses to get into gear, as the two sides were scoreless at the end of the first quarter. However, both sides began going to the air towards the end of the first half.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper also looked sharp, putting to rest worries about the team's passing game without Randy Moss. Culpepper went 11-of-13 passing for 146 yards before backup Shaun Hill attempted to rally the Vikes. Hill led the team on two scoring drives late to tie the game. Minnesota Vikings 1st round pick Troy Williamson was quite impressive in his first pre-season game of the year. He sat out last week with an ankle injury.

New York Jets running back Cedrick Houston ran 10 yards for a touchdown with under six minutes remaining to put the Jets up for good.
