Yes, the San Francisco 49ers are struggling, but more than a few fans have said, "Hey, at least we're better than the Seahawks, right?" That statement will be put to the test this weekend when the two NFC West rivals face off. The 49ers are 2-5 and the Seahawks are 1-5. Sunday will be a clash of the terrible titans and could be a shootout for two teams that give up over 28 points a game. The 49ers pulled off a 33-30 overtime win in Seattle during Week 2.

Commentary: There are a surprising number of interesting storylines for this game. The obvious one would be interim coach Mike Singletary's debut. The 49ers are giving up 339.4 yards a game on defense and are minus-8 in turnover differential, a killer for any team hoping to succeed in the NFL. Singletary will probably have an impact on those numbers; therefore, the edge, goes to the 49ers.

This game could revive San Francisco in a big way. With a game against the division-leading Arizona Cardinals coming up, the 49ers need this one in order to stay in the hunt. Lay an egg against the sad-sack Seahawks, and there may be no turning back on a season that could be as bad as the past few have been for the Niners.

Fan Pulse: Fans think a change in focus, intensity and fewer mistakes are what Singletary will need to focus on for him to have a chance at an extended run beyond this season: http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=37113&page=2.

Fantasy Football Commentary: Frank Gore loves playing Seattle, but quarterback J.T. O' Sullivan may find its down-and-out defense to his liking, too. If you need a QB to play while Denver's Jay Cutler, Chicago's Kyle Orton and Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers are out, O'Sullivan could be a decent option.

Injury Watch: WR Josh Morgan is listed as questionable with a groin injury for Week 8.
