There are two types of pro football fan -- the traditional spectator and the fantasy football nut. Up until a few weeks ago ,the San Francisco 49ers had the fantasy gamer in a lather as their offense offered multiple starting options in quarterback J.T. O' Sullivan, running back Frank Gore and even a resurgence from aging wideout Isaac Bruce. Then O' Sullivan went into backup mode and everything else went downhill.

Commentary: 49ers interim coach Mike Singletary has benched O'Sullivan, replacing him with Shaun Hill. That could be just what the 49ers need to right the ship, but it spells disaster for every fantasy option on the team except Gore -- who will likely be asked to carry the load for now. The downside is that defenses might solely focus on Gore, thus worsening his stats.

Fan Pulse: Fans of 49ers think a lack of previous playing time for Hill may work to the team's advantage: http://forums.49ers.com/messageboard/showthread.php?t=61485.

Fantasy Football Commentary: This may seem a bit redundant, but it's time to go looking elsewhere for fantasy help. Gore is the only game in town for the Niners.

Injury Watch: CB Allen Rossum strained his right hamstring last week and is questionable for Week 10 versus the Arizona Cardinals. He gets a bye this week to heal up.
