With the 6-9 San Francisco 49ers' season about to end, now is as good as any time to start speculating about which players the team should be interested in entering the 2009 draft.

Commentary: The 49ers are 26th in rushing offense, largely because teams stack the box against them. The way to cure that is to draft a top-notch receiver who will make defenses think twice about disrespecting San Francisco's passing game.

Atop the 49ers' list should be Texas Tech receiver Michael Crabtree, who caught 93 passes for 1,135 yards and 18 touchdowns during the regular season.

It isn't certain that Crabtree will be available when the 49ers pick, but he'd sure be a great fit for vertically challenged San Francisco.

Fan Pulse:
Do the 49ers dare trade Frank Gore? Some fans think it's a good idea.

Fantasy Football Commentary: QB Shaun Hill had his share of mistakes last week, but he does enough to be a solid fantasy starter. Be careful with Gore, though, as he is nicked up.

Injury Watch: Gore (sprained ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins.
