Coach Singletary has brought a, 'Can do,' attitude to the 'Stick, but outside of a few nice quotes and a drop of the pants, I have not seen the roster improvements necessary to effect the outcome of the '09 season. Vegas post the 49ers win/loss total at 7, and that might be a great bet..for the under. Forget our QB mess, Crabtree's contract demands or the fact that PK, 'Smoking' Joe Nedney has been the Niners 2 time MVP and just turn your eyes to the schedule ahead.

With the 26th worst schedule we should all be running for the hills, but take a deeper look and the '09 campaign may be decided before we take a week 6 hiatus.

@ AZ, SEA, @ MIN, StL, ATL. I am scratching my head thinking the Gold Rush could be fooled into a 1-4 start on way to a (GULP) 5-11 abomination. Seattle is mightily improved with Hasselbeck, Houshmandzadeh and a fast, healthy D. Rams at home - I expect a W or turn the lights out and forget Santa Clara. Looking at the other 3 games, we are the lesser talented team in each contest by a country mile. After the break, the Niners talent level will be comparable or superior when playing @ HOU, @ GNB, JAC, DET, @ StL, @ SEA. Looking at the rest of the schedule, SF has inferior talent @ IND, TEN, CHI, AZ, @ PHI. Those still reading might point out I identified 8 winnable games. Yes, winnable. I am less confident about the winnable games than I am about losing the 8 games we have NO CHANCE!

Next week I renew my membership with the Optimist Club, this week I wallow in the fact that SF, home of 5 SB championships, and 16 consecutive winning seasons will post their 7th losing season.
Sell the team York! Let it go! Sorry...that is for another time.
When Tinkerbell talks Gen Y listens. Good night & live right.
