SAN FRANCISCO, California - The San Francisco 49ers apparently were pleased with defensive end Chris Cooper's play this past season. The Niners signed Cooper to a 2 year contract, according to the team. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 6' 5", 285 lbs. Cooper played in 10 games for San Francisco last season - starting 2 of them - while registering 15 tackles and 1 sack.

Cooper spent his first 3 years in the league with the Oakland Raiders.
