Niners sign Marques Douglas

The San Francisco 49ers and defensive end Marques Douglas came to terms on a 3 year deal. Douglas was a Baltimore Raven for the past 4 years.

The 6'2", 290 lbs. DE had 72 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 2 deflected passes, and 1 forced fumble in 16 games during 2004. The Howard University product has played for the Ravens (1999,2001-2004) and the New Orleans Saints (2000). In 6 seasons in the NFL, he has accumulated 146 tackles, 12 sacks, 4 passes defended, and 3 forced fumbles.

Douglas is familiar with new 49ers coach Mike Nolan, who had been the defensive coordinator in Baltimore the last previous 3 years.
