North Carolina commitment Jared McAdoo was arrested and charged Monday with one felony drug count. The charge stems from a post-graduation party at which the 6-foot-2, 285-pound defensive tackle supposedly sold Percocet.

The Chapel Hill High (Chapel Hill, N.C.) native is considered by Rivals to be the nation’s fifth-best pass rusher for the 2009 class. He committed to the Tar Heels on March 3.

McAdoo has been released into his father’s custody, and his court date is currently scheduled for June 27.

COMMENTARY: McAdoo was heavily recruited by several ACC schools. In all likelihood, those schools are breathing a sigh of relief for not getting a commitment from him given this recent trouble.
