Texas Tech’s Michael Crabtree brought the Biletnikoff Award to the Big XII last season. Although Crabtree continues to post impressive receiving numbers, Oklahoma State’s Dez Bryant has bolted into contention.

Commentary: In total numbers, Bryant and Crabtree appear neck-and-neck. The Cowboy wide receiver has snared 27 passes for 550 yards, while his Red Raider counterpart has grabbed 38 catches for 564 yards. Through five games, Bryant has crossed the goal line nine times, and Crabtree has entered the end zone on eight occasions.

But when it comes to individual games, the OSU sophomore blows away his competitors. In the Missouri State contest, Bryant didn’t catch a single pass. But in his last three games, the wideout has gone on a rampage.

Against Houston, he snared nine receptions for 236 yards and three touchdowns. In the Troy game, Bryant totaled six catches for 118 yards and three touchdowns, and in the conference opener with Texas A&M, he grabbed five passes for 106 yards and three more scores.

Quarterback Zac Robinson’s favorite target doubles as a kick return specialist. Bryant has fielded 11 punts and returned them 259 yards, averaging 23.5 yards per kick return, this season. On two occasions, the dual-threat weapon has converted his returned punts into touchdowns.

This Saturday, Bryant and the Cowboys can showcase their high-octane offense. In a meeting of two undefeated teams, Oklahoma State travels to Columbia for an encounter with No. 3 Missouri broadcast on ESPN2. With Chase Daniel and the Tigers providing the competition, offensive fireworks could erupt endlessly.

Fan Pulse: OSU fans believe their team gets a road win if Bryant posts big numbers. Check out this link for their thoughts: http://www.orangepower.com/showthread.php?t=58345.

Injury Report: Oklahoma State enters the Missouri game in good health. Tight end Brandon Pettigrew is questionable because of a sprained ankle.
