The Oklahoma State Cowboys' athletic program is $165 million richer today. That's because Billionaire Boone Pickens, who just happens to be an Oklahoma State alumnus, donated that ridiculous amount of money to help the Cowboys build an athletic village near the existing football stadium. It is the largest gift donation in NCAA history.

The total cost of the proposed complex will exceed $700 million, but Pickens' gift is a good start. When completed, the village will include an indoor practice facility for football, baseball, track and other sports.

Boone Pickens is definitely not doing this to get his name on a building, etc. The Oklahoma State Cowboys football stadium already bears his name.
