Deer Creek High (Edmond, Okla.) quarterback Dax Dilbeck gave his verbal commitment to Oregon State on Tuesday for the 2009 class.

The 6-foot-1, 171-pound dual-threat gunslinger, who runs the 40 in 4.5 seconds, chose Corvallis over Army. Offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf is credited as the primary.

COMMENTARY: Dilbeck brings the class’ tally to five commitments; he is the second quarterback to commit, following in Californian three-star prospect Cody Vaz's footsteps. Vaz is a pro-style quarterback, so it appears Oregon State wants a little variety under center.
