The Green Bay Packers announced that Pro Bowl tight end Bubba Franks has ended his 29 day holdout, and agreed to terms on a seven year deal worth an estimated $28 million. The deal includes a $7 million signing bonus, which makes Franks the highest-paid tight end in team history.
Franks said in a news conference that he is good shape and knew that a deal would get done. He had earlier refused to sign a one-year tender worth $2.095 million the team placed on him. He claimed he deserved an extension and would only sign the tender as a last resort, so he didn't have to miss any of the season.

In his NFL career, all five as a member of the Green Bay Packers, he has never missed a game. He has caught 188 passes for 1,729 yards and 28 touchdowns and been selected to the Pro Bowl three times.

Bubba Franks will report to camp today, but will not participate in the team's Friday night pre-season game against the New England Patriots. Depending on how this week's practice goes, he could make his debut next week in the Packers final exhibition game on September 1st versus the Tennessee Titans.
