The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported over the weekend that thePackers have some interest in trading for Dolphins DE Jason Taylor, but Taylor isn't big on finishing his career in a smaller TV market like Green Bay.

Judging by the fans' reactions on Packer Forum, the feeling is more than mutual.

The simple question was asked: "Would you give a first rounder for Jason Taylor?"

Most fans didn't support the idea.

One poster threw in a caveat for what it would take to satisfy him.

"nope. barring injury GB should be able to get 4-5 years min out of a 1st round pick. And each year the youngster would keep gtting better. Taylor could fade a bit each year as he ages. Unless they totally screw up, a 1st round pick should have as much ability at their position as Taylor has. 3rd round pick ok. If he plays at a high level all 3 years."

Some fans remember the impact aging pass rusher Reggie White made on the Packers, and they drew a parallel to his success and Taylor's potential impact on the defending NFC North champions. But the overlying attitude is to not mortgage the future for the sake of what seems to be a generally accepted belief that Taylor will only play one more season.

"The problem, at least one of them, is that even if Taylor agreed to play for 2 yrs., he could still cut and run after only 1 and we couldn't do a thing about it. Pro football is no longer his #1 love so how much benefit could he be? Frankly, I'm a bit surprised he'll commit to even 1 year since all it would take to ruin his dancing career is one knee or ankle injury. I vote no on JT."
