Fan Pulse: Favre rumor disproved, but did Packers fans want it to be false?

Former Packers QB Brett Favre was thinking about a comeback.

Then he wasn't.

While these rumors were kicking around, it didn't seem The Packer Forum really wanted him all that much. If anything, it seemed Packers fans were more uncomfortable with the notion of the distraction Favre's return would cause to new starter Aaron Rodgers and the team as a whole.

"I love (Favre) to death and he was the reason I became a Packer fan....but this situation is not good at all. I see this ending ugly. I don't see any good coming from this. To elaborate, I don't think the Packers front office will want him back. Something will happen that could include an outright release or trade. That's what I meant."

While some posters considered Favre the third-best QB in the game, it seems like a pretty black and white issue to others.

"I don't know if it's that simple. I mean, hey, we had a whole off-season talking with and about Rodgers being the starter after waiting so long. The organization already moved on and were behind Rodgers the whole time."

Meanwhile, others support the idea of trading Favre.

"Trade him to Miami for Jason Taylor and a second round pick."

Tell Favre no! The man retired and now Aaron Rodgers is there starter. All this stuff about Favre coming back just sets Rodgers...

True. But what happens if Favre comes back and they go back to the playoffs and lose, especially with the Cowboys in the NFC....
