Even with the unretirement of Brett Favre, there's an outside chance Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will take the first snap of the regular season on Sept. 8 against the Minnesota Vikings. Although feelings about a new signal-caller taking over starting duties in Green Bay are mixed, there is a sense, at least for the time being, that Rodgers is the Packer whom fans love to hate.

Here are seven reasons why that may be:

No. 7 - Jeff Tedford:

Tedford was Rodgers’ head coach at the University of California, and Rodgers is one of six Tedford QB protégés to be picked in the first round of the NFL draft. Some of the names to come before Rodgers (Akili Smith, Trent Dilfer, Joey Harrington and Kyle Boller) have led many fans to be suspicious of the fourth-year man's potential to flourish in the pros.

No. 6 - Brady Quinn:

In last year's NFL draft, the Packers passed on an opportunity to draft Brady Quinn, a QB whom many scouts had pegged as a future star. Back then, Packers management cited its commitment to Rodgers as the rationale for not drafting Quinn, now a Cleveland Brown, in Round 1. If Quinn pans out and Rodgers doesn't, things could get ugly in Green Bay.

No. 5 Injury prone?

A season-ending broken foot and a pulled hamstring aren’t exactly enough to earn the stigma of being injury prone, but such ailments seem to be amplified when you consider both came while Rodgers was a backup. When you’re playing behind the NFL’s iron man, fans tend to forget that QBs are human and often injured. To say the least, Rodgers’ durability is a question mark.

No. 4 - Ted Thompson:

The general manager's overwhelming support of Rodgers and perceived distaste for No. 4 have created a Favre-vs.-Rodgers mentality, forcing many fans to choose sides.

No. 3 - $7.7 million:

Most people work really hard at their jobs while not making much money, and sometimes it’s fun to pick on a guy who accumulates millions to hold a clipboard.

No. 2 - The ‘Cali’ thing:

In the land of cheese and snow, ‘'surfer dudes’' tend to stick out like a sore thumb. Rest assured, though, if Rodgers has a big year, Lake Michigan’s beaches will be packed with Packers surfboards.

No. 1 - He’s not Brett Favre:

Sorry, Aaron, but only time heals certain wounds.

Training Camp: An entirely new kind of fantasy game!
