The Green Bay Packers have come to terms with guard Matt O'Dwyer, according to agent Mark Bartelstein. He said O'Dwyer will sign a 1 year deal for the veteran minimum of $765,000. Furthermore, the agent stated O'Dwyer contract will count just $455,000 against the salary cap due to the veteran's exemption.

Bartelstein said O'Dwyer saw a chance to start at Green Bay after the team lost guards Mike Wahle and Marco Rivera to free agency.

The 6'5", 305 lbs. former Northwestern Wildcat enters his 11th year as a professional. O'Dwyer began his career with the New York Jets (1995-1998) before playing for the Cincinnati Bengals (1999-2003).

The 32 year old O'Dwyer had been expected to start for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2004 before tearing a pectoral muscle lifting weights. The offensive lineman returned to play late last year, marking the second consecutive season he has only appeared in 4 contests.
