Packers re-sign Najeh Davenport

The Green Bay Packers re-signed running back Najeh Davenport to a 1 year deal. Davenport is expected to return kicks and serve as a backup to Ahman Green in 2005.

The 6'1", 250 lbs. restricted free agent had 71 carries for 359 yards (5.1 ypc) and 2 touchdowns in 11 games during 2004. He ran 19 times for 178 yards and 1 TD against the St. Louis Rams on November 29 in his first career start. Najeh also had 14 kickoff returns for 286 yards (20.4 avg)

Davenport is a decorated former University of Miami Hurricane who was drafted by the Packers in 2002. In his professional career, he has 187 rushes for 963 yards (5.1 ypc) and 5 TDs. Najeh also has 36 kick returns for 921 yards - that's an impressive average of 25.6 yards per return.
