The Green Bay Packers matched an offer sheet on restricted free agent Aaron Kampman. The defensive end had signed a 1 year, $1.2 million tender from the Minnesota Vikings a week ago. The Packers could have received a fifth round pick in return if they had not matched the offer.

The 6'4", 284 lbs. Kampman played all 16 contests in 2004, recording 67 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 3 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery.

The University of Iowa product finally got the opportunity to start last year after joining Green Bay in 2002. He has totalled 120 tackles, 7 sacks, 5 passes defended, 4 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries in 40 games.
