Let it not go unsaid in Charlotte, N.C., that the efforts of one group can make a difference.

A petition started by Panthers fans through a group called "Fans 4 The Logo" has been circulating, garnering over 1,700 signatures from fans calling for the inclusion of the team's logo on the Bank of America Stadium turf.

The topic is being discussed on Carolina Huddle, a Panthers fan forum. According to the forum, the petition has gained enough momentum that Panthers owner Jerry Richardson is taking action.

"We got some new information from 'Team Officials' There will be a Panthers Logo on the field this 2008 season. However he wouldnt say where. The field painting changes are in the works starting with the regular season games and more information wll be announced by the team in the not too distant future. He also said they are very thankful for all the fans opinions regarding the logo and that they are very aware about the petition."

The group's goal seems to be getting the Panthers logo placed on the 50-yard line. That area currently stays blank during games. While the grassroots campaign is producing positive results, they don't seem intent on slowing down.

"The petition will stay open until the start of training camp. Then we will print off the petition and have it hand delivered to the Panthers."

Another group of Panthers fans decided to follow suit, and with tongue firmly planted in cheek, they created a petition to have beer vendors trek up to the cheap seats. The Fans 4 Upper Deck Beer Man has a total of 42 signatures.
