Veteran wide receiver Ricky Proehl told sources that he'll return for a 16th NFL season. Proehl, caught 34 passes last season for 497 yards.

He helped the Panthers reach the Super Bowl in 2003, his first year with Carolina. Proehl did win a Super Bowl ring with the 1999 St. Louis Rams. He has 641 catches in his career, with 50 TDs.

The former Wake Forest Demon Deacon has played with the Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks and Chicago Bears during his career.
