The New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers are led by head coaches from the defensive side of the ball and their teams both play the 3-4 defense, which makes for some interesting similarities when analyzing the potential outcome of this game.

First and foremost, both offensive units have gotten a lot of work all season against the AFC's most successful package in 2004. You can bet the players and coaches for New England and Pittsburgh know all about the flexibility and problems this package can cause.

Let's first look at where the pass pressure comes from. Below is a breakdown of the sacks this season by positions. It includes the divisional playoff games. Both defensive staffs like multiple-pressure schemes and look for ways to bring a free player against the quarterback while playing more zone than man coverage behind the pressure.
