The New England Patriots were already at a loss with the injuries of tackle Matt Light and safety Rodney Harrison. As if that weren't enough, the Patriots also have to deal with the loss of running back Kevin Faulk.

Kevin Faulk is one of Tom Brady's most steadfast receivers. At the time of his injury, he was in a tie as the team's third leading receiver with 13 catches. Faulk's career numbers include 217 receptions for 1,935 yards and eight touchdowns.

During Sunday's win at Pittsburgh, Faulk was forced to leave the game with an injured foot. After an examination yesterday, the extent of his injury and return date remain unclear.

On Wednesday, the Patriots signed Amos Zereoue to take Faulk's place. Zereoue, who has played for the Steelers and Raiders in the past, is now in his seventh season as a pro. Although he may not be able to match Faulk's production as a receiver, he has averaged over 40 catches a year in the last three seasons.
