The New England Patriots signed cornerback Chad Scott. The defensive back was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers after 2004.

The 6'1", 202 lbs. player saw action in only 7 games last season, registering 29 tackles, 1 interception, and 8 deflected passes.

The former Maryland Terp begins his ninth year in the NFL. Scott entered the league in 1997 after the Steelers drafted him to be their franchise corner on defense. Since then, he has amassed 418 tackles, 19 INTs (4 returned for TDs), 79 pass deflections, 1 forced fumble, and 1 recovery of an opponent's fumble in 91 games.
