The New England Patriots acquired linebacker Chad Brown. The sack leader among active LBs was released by the Seattle Seahawks in April.

The 6'2", 245 lbs. Brown could be a suitable replacement for Tedy Bruschi, whose health is still in question for this upcoming season. However, numerous injuries have caused him to miss numerous contests since 2002.

The University of Colorado product has started 156 of 163 games with the Pittsburgh Steelers (1993-96) and Seattle (1997-2004) during 12 NFL seasons. Brown made the Pro Bowl in 1996, 1997, and 1998

The Patriots have veterans Willie McGinest, Mike Vrabel, Ted Johnson and Roosevelt Colvin at the LB spot.
