The New England Patriots signed safety Antuan Edwards. The free agent defensive back can play both at strong safety and free safety.

The 6 foot 1 inch, 210 pound Edwards recorded 65 tackles, 1 sack, 8 pass deflections, and 1 forced fumble in 14 games last year. He played for the Miami Dolphins and the St. Louis Rams in 2004.

The former Clemson University star began his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers in 1999; his last season with the Packers came in 2003. In 67 games, he has amassed 231 tackles, 3 sacks, 7 interceptions, 28 pass deflections, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries.
