Good return men always seem to have job security, even when they're cut. The New England Patriots have snatched up veteran return man Chad Morton after he was cut by the Washington Redskins on June 3rd. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but is reportedly close to the veteran minimum.

Chad Morton signed a fairly lucrative deal with the Washington Redskins two seasons ago. It was a considered a coup when the Skins snatched him away from the New York Jets during the first wave of free agency in 03'. However, after a disappointing and injury plagued 04' season in which Morton played in only six games, the Redskins decided to cut the six year veteran loose.

Morton enjoyed his best season in the NFL when he was still with the Jets back in 2002. He returned two kickoffs for touchdowns and averaged a healthy 26 yards per kick return and 12.8 yards per punt return. The New England Patriots are hoping that he can bounce back into his old form.
