Sean Stanley, a 6-foot-2, 250-pound strongside defensive end from Gaithersburg, Md., has verbally committed to play for the Penn State Nittany Lions in 2009.

Commentary: Stanley is a four-star prospect who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds and possesses a 3.28 high school GPA to date. In other words, he's got athletic skills and smarts. But perhaps the most impressive thing about Stanley is that he managed to accrue 37 tackles for a loss last season and 17 sacks.

Joe Paterno has to like hearing that.
