Two Penn State football players pleaded guilty on Friday to a misdemeanor charge in connection with an on-campus fight last year.

Commentary: Linebacker Navorro Bowman and defensive tackle Phil Taylor pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct Friday, prompting prosecutors to drop more serious assault charges. Each was sentenced to one year of probation and 100 hours of community service.

The two were among four players charged with beating a Philadelphia man who was attending a party at the campus student center on Oct. 7. In addition to the aforementioned, the two must also pay more than $700 in restitution to the victim and the university for costs related to cleanup from the fight.
