No pressure, LeSean McCoy.

As a first-year player last season, the Pitt running back rushed for 1,328 yards (his 110 yards a game average was tops among freshmen nationally), scored 90 points and 16 rushing touchdowns. The last two numbers were new Pitt records, gently nudging the fabled Tony Dorsett off the books.

Dorsett obviously didn't take it personally, though, because he'll be at Pitt on April 1 to present a special award to McCoy.

"When I watched him play last year," Dorsett said, "he reminded me of me."

Dorsett finished his Panther career with 6,082 yards (then the best all-time in the NCAA) and a national championship (1976). Obviously, Pitt coach Dave Wannstedt hopes that some personal face time with Tony D. might be an inspiration for McCoy to build on his rookie numbers.

As a senior at Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, McCoy gained a remarkable 859 yards and scored 10 touchdowns. Why remarkable? Because he did it in three games, before breaking his ankle. Before that, the 5-11, 200-pounder was on track to break the state rushing record.

Just so the college scouts would get the point, McCoy then prepped at Milford Academy in New York and averaged 7.1 yards a carry there before signing with Pitt.
