The Raiders signed DE Greg Spires on Tuesday, the team announced.

Spires, an 11-year veteran, has spent the last six seasons in Tampa Bay after starting his career with Cleveland and New England. He has 10 forced fumbles in 11 seasons.

Commentary: Oakland wanted to add a veteran pass rusher to play right defensive end, and Spires fits that bill. He had a sack and two pass deflections in Tampa Bay's Super Bowl win over Oakland in 2003.
