Oakland is preparing to release fullback Tony Jackson and offensive lineman Jonathan Palmer in order to free up cap space to sign its remaining draft picks. Sixth-round defensive end Trevor Scott and fourth-round wide receiver Arman Shields are still unsigned.

Commentary: The Oakland Tribune speculates because of the team's inability to come to a long-term agreement with cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, his franchise player tag will put $9.7 million on its cap. The Raiders have been trying to deal running back LaMont Jordan, but they may end up releasing the veteran.
