Though no interviews have currently been scheduled by Oakland Raiders senior personnel executive Michael Lombardi in regards to their head coaching vacancy, it has been confirmed that Fresno State head man Pat Hill has been contacted by the team, though no official meeting is imminent.

Hill, who is also in the running for other jobs, has interviewed with the Houston Texans and also is to meet with representatives from the St. Louis Rams and New Orleans Saints this week. Hill has not been available for comment since leaving Houston Monday evening to attend the American Football Coaches Association convention in Dallas.

Hill just completed his ninth season at the helm of the Bulldogs, where he holds a 72-42 career mark, including seven straight bowl appearances. In 2005, Fresno finished 8-4 and tied for third place in the Western Athletic Conference. They were defeated by Tulsa 31-24 in the Liberty Bowl, which was played on December 30th.

Under Hill's guidance, the school has emerged as one of the top programs in the country. He became an even bigger prospect for the NFL after his club nearly defeated top-ranked USC this past November, but the Trojans escaped with a 50-42 victory.

His current contract with Fresno State runs through the 2007 season and reportedly pays him between $900,000 and $1 million annually.
